Originally from the Planadas region, in the south of the Tolima region, this coffee is grown on a high altitude area very often traversed by clouds.
It is from this peculiarity that its name has its origin since “Fábrica” comes from “Cloud factory”.
The Planadas terroir is located south of Tolima and at the heart of three of Colombia’s most important production regions: Huila, Tolima, and Cauca. It is known to produce some of the best coffee in the country. The majority of the culture is organic since the producers are keen to preserve their environment while ensuring flawless grain quality.
Tolima is one of the last regions which continues to cultivate old varieties such as Bourbon or Typica, an asset underlined by traditional production methods that continue from generation to generation. The high altitude of the terroir (between 1600 and 2000 meters over a total area of 14,450 hectares) obliges producers to opt for ferments that are among the longest possible
